My approach to counseling

When people begin counseling, they're often looking for relief from the problem they're facing today, whether that's anxiety, trauma, depression, OCD, grief, addiction, or another difficult season. 

My first priority is to help you find relief from the concerns that brought you to counseling. At the same time, I hope our work together leads to something even deeper: lasting healing and peace that reaches beyond symptom relief alone.

Over the years, I've found myself thinking about the counseling journey through the picture of living stones described in 1 Peter 2:4–5. That passage has become a meaningful way for me to visualize how God sees us (chosen and precious) and how He brings healing and transformation through a steady process of growth over time (being built up through Jesus Christ). It reminds me that God is continually working in and through us. 

By approaching the counseling space through the Living Stones Counseling Framework, it has helped me organize and think about the counseling journey for myself and my clients. I combine evidence-based counseling with a biblical understanding of how God shapes us through every season of life. Rather than replacing established therapeutic approaches, it provides a Christ-centered perspective that helps guide the work we do together.
