The Living Stones Counseling Framework
While every woman's story is unique, this outline offers a simple way of understanding the counseling process. It includes three stages of the counseling journey and five pillars of growth that represent the areas we continually cultivate along the way. Together, they provide a framework for pursuing not only symptom relief, but lasting emotional, relational, and spiritual growth.
It's about more than reducing symptoms, it's about building a life rooted in truth, strengthened by faith, and equipped to weather life's challenges. Rather than focusing only on immediate problems, this framework looks at the whole person, your thoughts, emotions, relationships, spiritual life, and purpose.
Built – Build a strong foundation
Guided – Develop Healthy Patterns
Established – Continue growing with confidence
Strong foundations support lasting growth.
The counseling journey often begins by slowing down and understanding your story.
Together, we'll explore how your experiences, relationships, thought patterns, emotions, and beliefs have shaped where you are today. Rather than simply trying to eliminate symptoms, we'll begin building a stronger foundation rooted in truth, self-awareness, and your identity in Christ.
Healing isn't simply knowing what is true, it is learning how to live it.
As counseling progresses, we'll focus on putting insight into practice. You'll learn practical skills for navigating anxiety, processing emotions, improving relationships, making wise decisions, establishing healthy boundaries, and responding differently to life's challenges.
Growth doesn't happen overnight. It develops through practice, reflection, and applying what you're learn between sessions. Over time, these skills become more natural, helping healthy patterns take root in daily life and equipping you to face future challenges with greater confidence and resilience.
Together, we'll apply what you're learning in counseling to everyday situations, helping new ways of thinking and responding become part of daily life.
The goal of counseling isn't dependence on therapy, it's lasting transformation.
As new patterns become more established, many women experience greater emotional resilience, healthier relationships, increased confidence, and a deeper sense of peace. While challenges don't disappear, you'll be better equipped to navigate them with wisdom, practical skills, and a growing confidence in God's faithfulness.
Rather than marking an end point, this stage reflects the ongoing work of living out what you've learned long after counseling has ended. Just as our lives continue to change through new seasons, relationships, losses, and responsibilities, there may be times when you choose to return to counseling for additional support.
Rather than starting over, those seasons often provide an opportunity to build upon the foundation we've already established, applying familiar tools and biblical truth to new challenges as they arise.
My hope is that counseling equips you not only for the concerns that bring you in today, but for a lifetime of continued growth, trusting that God will remain faithful in every season.
Foundation – Identity & Stability
Restoration – Healing & Freedom
Formation – Renewed Thinking & Habits
Connection – God & Healthy Relationships
Purpose – Hope & Direction
Throughout counseling, we'll continually return to five foundational areas that support lasting emotional, relational, and spiritual growth. These pillars aren't completed one at a time. Instead, they work together as God continues shaping every area of your life.
Strengthening emotional stability while rooting your identity in Christ rather than fear, shame, performance, or circumstances.
Finding healing from past wounds, grief, trauma, broken relationships, and painful experiences while learning healthy ways to move forward.
Renewing the way you think, respond, and live through evidence-based counseling grounded in biblical truth, leading to lasting transformation rather than temporary change.
Growing in your relationship with God while strengthening healthy relationships with others through communication, boundaries, vulnerability, forgiveness, and meaningful support.
Living with greater clarity, hope, and confidence as you discover the purpose God has for your life, even in seasons that don't look the way you expected.
No two women begin counseling in the same place, and no two counseling journeys look exactly alike.
Wherever your journey begins, our work together will be personalized to your unique needs, integrating evidence-based counseling with a biblical understanding of healing and growth. My hope is that you leave counseling equipped with practical tools, greater peace, and a stronger foundation for whatever lies ahead.
"You yourselves like living stones are being built up ..."
